Purchasing Manager

The Role:

  • Implementation of Supplier KPI strategy and process
  • Due diligence on all supply base with regard to service delivery and ethical value
  • Team management and development of purchasing structure to sustain business growth
  • The day to day management of procurement system within the company ERP system
  • Ensure compliance to AS9100 and ISO 9001 procurement standards
  • Hands on strategic deployment of purchasing activity inclusive of structure alignment, sourcing, price negotiation, procurement and expediting
  • Monitor forecast requirements and manage suppliers accordingly
  • Assist in the justification and selection process for capital expenditure

The Candidate/Qualifications/Experience:

  • At least 5 years’ experience in leading or managing procurement projects
  • Proven track record of working to tight deadlines
  • Training to be provided for Additive Manufacturing (AM) applications and AM specific software, however existing knowledge is desirable
  • Degree or HND in the following or similar, MCIPS or CIPS level 5 or above
  • Good understanding of ERP systems Microsoft Nav would be advantage
  • Understanding and experience of industrial materials and processes would be beneficial
  • Exposure to lean manufacturing principles and the tools associated
  • Competent with Microsoft packages
  • Demonstrated procurement, sourcing, and purchasing background
  • Good understanding of quality requirements & procedures
  • Positive attitude, team player with good communication skills
  • Ability to work in various supplied sectors

Lead Inspector

The Role: This is a key role in the Quality Team, which we see growing substantially over the next 5-10 years. For this role we require an excellent communicator to develop the quality system, in process control and mentor others to give total quality approach through the day to day operations. Main duties include:-

  • Manage inspection activities, including Goods-In:
    • Creating and maintaining work instructions, including product / customer specific documents
    • Assist Senior Quality Engineer with training in-process inspectors
    • Work with Production Planner / Managers to ensure there is enough capacity and lead-time for inspection
    • Team Leader responsibilities as new Inspectors join
    • Carry out internal audits, surveillance checks and re-approval of Inspectors
  • Carry out inspection:
    • Review & validate in-process inspection, including some manual inspection
    • Scanning
    • FAIRs
    • Jig & Gauge creation for inspection
  • Maintain inspection facilities and equipment to a high standard, including calibration control
  • Assist Senior Quality Engineer to develop product testing capabilities
  • Keep up-to date with relevant inspection technologies and processes

The Candidate/Qualifications/Experience:

  • Workshop practical process knowledge
  • Good foundation level of engineering
  • Scanner and CMM competent
  • Inspection experience
  • Root cause analysis and managing the implementation of corrective actions
  • Able to read and interpret engineering drawings
  • Strong ‘can do’ attitude and work ethic
  • An organised and tidy approach to work
  • Excellent at prioritising daily tasks
  • Enjoys communicating with a wide range of people from all levels of the organisation and is able to discuss problems and work to a resolution in a positive, constructive manner

Processing Technicians (2 x day and 2 x night shift)

The Role: We are looking for two day time shift and two night time shift Processing Technicians to work on a 12 hour continental shift pattern covering 7 days a week in our metals and plastics Additive Manufacturing facilities.  Main duties will include:-

  • Operation of 3T’s fleet of Metal AM and Plastic AM machines
  • Performing mechanical servicing and preventative maintenance of both Plastic and Metal AM (DMLS) machines
  • Clean down and preparation of the machines before starting a new job
  • Setting up new jobs
  • Material change-overs, sieving and control
  • Be part of the internal design team to aid Process R&D
  • Facilities maintenance
  • Carry out part post-processing and workshop duties when required

The Candidate/Qualifications/Experience: 

  • Experience in Additive Manufacturing industry is desirable
  • English, Maths and Literacy to a good competence level
  • Quality or Process qualifications would be beneficial
  • Sound engineering knowledge desirable
  • Working to tight deadlines within a dynamic/busy environment
  • Hand tool, workshop or model-making skills beneficial, good at working with your hands
  • Good time management
  • Good understanding of quality requirements & procedures
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Facilities maintenance skills desirable (mechanical, electric, plumbing etc.) but not essential
  • Understanding of working with different materials
  • Positive attitude, good team player and flexible

Day Shift Metals Workshop Assistant

The Role: We are looking for a day shift Metals Workshop Assistant to work on a 12 hour continental shift pattern covering 7 days a week in our metals Additive Manufacturing facility.  Main duties will include:-

  • Using hand finishing tools provided to finish parts to relevant tolerances/finish requirements
  • Read engineering drawings/routings and carry out work required
  • Using hand finishing tools such as grinders, linishers, belt sanders, pencil grinders etc.
  • Potentially running EDM machines (full training will be given)
  • Play a key part in New Order Reviews
  • Assessing times required to finish components

The Candidate/Qualifications/Experience:

  • Experience in Additive Manufacturing or casting industry is desirable
  • English, Maths and Literacy to a good competence level
  • Quality or Process qualifications would be beneficial
  • Time served apprenticeship beneficial but not a requirement
  • Sound engineering knowledge desirable
  • Working to tight deadlines within a dynamic/busy environment
  • Hand tool, workshop or model-making skills beneficial, good at working with your hands
  • Good time management
  • Good understanding of quality requirements & procedures
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Understanding of working with different materials
  • Positive attitude, good team player and flexible
  • Self motivated, able to work alone and as part of a team
