3T nominated for Made by Britain award
Richard Benyon, Conservative MP for Newbury, has nominated 3T as the ‘Made by Newbury’ representative of a national project called Made by Britain. Richard says “This superb company started providing plastic (SLS) parts for a range of customers, and now manufactures precision metals as well. 25% of products are exported. They innovate, take on young engineers and produce products that supply everything from motor sport to medical technologies.”
Run by the Associate Parliamentary Manufacturing Group, the project is designed to address the reputation problems facing the manufacturing sector. All 650 MPs have been asked to find a product that is manufactured in their constituency today and the objective is to draw up a diverse and comprehensive picture of contemporary British industry. Background to the project can be found here.
Richard Benyon recently visited 3T’s manufacturing premises at Greenham Business Park, Newbury, to officially inaugurate the first M280 metal Additive Manufacturing machine to be installed and working in the UK. At the time, Benyon said “3T is investing in the most up-to-the-minute manufacturing machinery. It is companies like 3T that continue to invest, that will help to secure the future of manufacturing in the UK.” He also commented that this reinforced that manufacturing is a significant and vital part of the area’s economy and one that can continue to expand because of companies like 3T.
The winner will be announced shortly, so check back to see if 3T won!
