What is the 24/7 Programme?

This system is designed to allow a registered user to generate quotations automatically. Access is limited to customers who have already established a trading relationship with 3T and demonstrated their understanding of the process deliverable.

The basis of all work undertaken by 3T RPD is to save time or speed product development. To this end all the phases of a project were examined to understand where the delays could occur and what could be done to improve the situation.

One area identified was the time between the recognition of requirement by the customer and the order being raised on the supplier. Whilst much of this is under the administrative control of the customer, 3T has to contribute a quotation. In many cases this is not a problem and quotations can be done same day. However in periods of high activity this can be delayed or the customer can require the quotation immediately.

To get over this problem 3T has launched the 24/7 Programme. This allows immediate access to laser sintered quotations by 3T RPD customers. The system requires the user to have an understanding of the issues involved in building prototypes using this technology and will be of benefit to the frequent user and those requiring very fast responses.

Usually the supplier will use their experience to choose a part orientation to optimise the part quality. Participants to the 24/7 Programme will be expected to understand these issues and be capable of orientating components themselves to arrive at valid quotations. Clearly failure to use the system, as intended, will result in substandard parts or the necessity to re-quote.

Initial customer feedback has been very positive and 3T plans to build on this quickly to offer a full e-commerce capability with quoting, ordering and payment options.
