Seminars Take Off

The latest seminar to be held at New Greenham Park proved a major success for all involved. Over 40 delegates attended a morning of presentations, followed by lunch and an in-depth tour of 3T RPD's rapidly growing facilities.

Whilst these seminars have been developing over the last year, this was the first time all the invitations and registrations were carried out online. "Within two hours of sending the invitation emails out, we received the first acceptances," commented Lynda Keaney, Event Organiser, "providing further evidence to justify 3T RPD's increasing use of e-commerce in it's business activities."

The presentations covered state of the art rapid prototyping, concept modelling and the current big interest area, SLS, selective laser sintering. With processes continuing to come to market almost monthly, it is vital that there is a conduit to bring this information to industry in a form that can be quickly digested and understood. 3T RPD see this as part of their brief; "we have to acquire the information to remain at the forefront of our industry" commented Tim Plunkett, CEO, "so why not pass it on to those who can benefit from it?" 

One by-product to date has been a significant rise in requests to take the presentation to customer sites. In this way, a much wider audience can benefit than is ever achievable with employees travelling off-site. John Maynard, Chief Mechanical Engineer of Thales commented, "I attended the February seminar and was very impressed by the relevance and breadth of the content. Tim has now repeated this at our site in Crawley, helping to raise the awareness of over fifty of our employees.
