Christmas charity donation

Every Christmas 3T RPD Ltd donate the money they would have spent on Christmas cards to a national charity, with the emphasis being on contributing to a worthwhile cause with long-term aims. Instead of sending out traditional, printed cards, 3T send a Christmas greeting via e-mail to their customers, prospects and suppliers, and for every person that responds via a link to their website, £1 is donated to the nominated charity.

For Christmas 2008 3T chose to support Macmillan Cancer Support. As treatments improve, more and more people are living with cancer in their daily lives. This means that as well as medical help, they need practical, emotional and financial support. One in three of us will get cancer ... but it's not only patients who live with cancer, so Macmillan help their carers, families and communities, guiding people through the system, supporting them every step of the way.

A total of £191 was donated to the charity. Last year we donated £168 to Marie Curie Cancer Care, and in previous years we have donated £156 to Save the Children, £273 to Cancer Research, £176 to Bullying Online, £238 to CLIC, £150 to When you wish upon a Star and £223 to BLISS.

Lynn Painter, 3T's Marketing Co-ordinator, said "Whilst a conventional Christmas card is always received with appreciation, they do end up being thrown away or, at best, recycled a week after Christmas! We toyed with the idea of buying charity Christmas cards, but really wanted to do something just that little bit different! The majority of our marketing communication is via e-mail and through our website, so this was the ideal solution."
