This year, 3TRPD Ltd wanted to do something different and decided to donate the money they would have spent on cards to a charity, with the emphasis being on contributing to a worthwhile cause with long-term aims.
Rather than posting conventional Christmas cards, an e-mail was sent out to all the contacts on the 3T customer and prospect database. For every person that responded via a link to the 3T website, £1 was donated to the charity. The BLISS charity is particularly significant to 3T, as since the company's inception 2 years ago, twins Toby and Joe have been born to Tim Plunkett, CEO, and they spent 6 weeks in a special care unit. Also, 2 members of the team have recently become fathers - Ian Archer, CNC Engineer, and his wife Louise, became proud parents to Bethany born on 15th December 2001, and Tony Cox, Project Manager, and his wife Carolyn, are equally proud of their son, Charlie, born on 19th January 2002. Thankfully, all concerned are doing extremely well. Sue Oram, Marketing Administrator, said "Whilst a conventional Christmas card is always received with appreciation, they do end up being thrown away or, at best, recycled. We toyed with the idea of buying charity Christmas cards, but really wanted to do something just that little bit different! A lot of our marketing communication is via e-mail newsletters and our website, so this was the ideal solution." Read the letter
