3T help others improve performance
3T RPD recently attended
a launch event for the Lean Approach to Product Development; a
new programme developed by Hook-based EEF South - the regional engineering
employers' association - to help businesses improve their performance.
The LAPD programme concentrates on taking waste out of the new product
development process. It focuses on the design stage to improve customer
service and cut manufacturing times, and aims to give companies the cutting
edge with designing better products, increasing market share and profit,
and gain a competitive advantage.
3T RPD specialises in the application of a range of tools and technologies
all designed to help its clients bring their products to market more quickly.
Tim Plunkett, CEO, told delegates at the launch "As the industry develops,
what was considered ground breaking yesterday quickly becomes the norm,
and new techniques step in offering further enhancements. 3T are well
equipped to meet the ever-increasing demand for higher levels of functionality
earlier in the design process and product development stages."
Mike Croudson of Nokia told delegates how LAPD had improved his company's
performance. Nokia discovered that by spending more time in the design and development
phase, problems at the manufacturing level reduced significantly.
Dave Powell, a World Class Performance consultant for EEF South said
"The Lean Approach to Product Development will enable businesses to develop
products that fit business strategy. Our programme will help reduce the
time to market, bring production costs down and reduce scrap and rework".
The programme is being funded by the DTI Fit for the Future scheme, Business
Link Surrey and EEF South.
