Account Manager

The Role: Management and development of Key Customer Accounts for the sale of plastic and metal parts produced via Additive Manufacturing. Responsible for ensuring that quotations are delivered on-time and closed effectively. Responsible for project managing customer projects and acting as the “customer’s voice” within 3T. Main duties will include:-

  • Driving sales from key accounts and building relationships
  • Processing customer quotes from initial enquiry to completion rapidly, including liaising with internal staff and obtaining quotations for sub-contract work
  • Monitoring all customer interactions and projects
  • Project Management of complex production work, liaising with internal staff and communicating project status to customers
  • Obtaining feedback from customers
  • Customer data management through Salesforce
  • Providing sales forecasting data
  • Working with the Marketing Team to develop marketing collateral

The Candidate/Qualifications/Experience:-

  • Degree qualified engineer or similar
  • Deep knowledge of manufacturing processes, ideally with experience of Additive Manufacturing
  • Ability to read technical drawings and interpret manufacturing requirements
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Account or Project Management experience, ideally in Aerospace, Automotive
  • Experience in High Value Manufacturing
  • Preferably sales experience within a technical industry
  • Use of a CRM system, ideally Salesforce
  • Diligent and organised approach to work
  • Professional and capable customer interaction ability

Graduate Technical Sales Executive

The Role: A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a recent Graduate Engineer who is looking to develop a career in sales. This role will play a key part in the account management of clients in increasing business growth. The Graduate Technical Sales Executive will be responsible for selling Metal and Plastic Additively Manufactured Parts.  The role will suit a self-motivated individual who is looking to apply their academic skills into a sales environment. You will be responsible for contacting clients, producing quotations and targeted on orders made.  The company offer an exciting challenge and training to help you succeed in this position. This role will report to the Sales Manager and lead the successful candidate in to a career within account management for several blue chip clients in the aerospace, automotive and motorsport industries. Main duties will include:-

  • Manage a portfolio of accounts to achieve long-term success
  • Develop positive relationships with clients
  • Act as the point of contact and handle customers’ individual needs
  • Generate new business using existing and potential customer networks
  • Resolve conflicts and provide solutions to customers in a timely manner
  • Report on the status of accounts and transactions
  • Hit sales targets, aligned with company objectives
  • Suggest actions to improve sales performance and identify opportunities for growth
  • Logging of all activities in company CRM
  • Cold Calling

The Candidate/Qualifications/Experience:

  • A degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Aerospace, Automotive)
  • Experience within a sales environment is desirable

  • Knowledge of 3D CAD and mechanical engineering principles

Quality Engineer

The Role: The Quality Engineer engages directly with production, suppliers and customers, taking responsibility for product / process performance throughout the product life cycle ie. New Product Introduction and Momentum Production. The role also requires responsibility for more general Quality Assurance and Business Process Improvement activities. Main duties will include:-

  • Translating and implementing external requirements i.e. international QMS standards, regulatory, customer and technical requirements etc.
    • Creating and maintaining quality, production and business documentation as required
    • Administration of Quality databases / document control systems
    • Ensuring audit schedules and NCR’s are managed and addressed in a timely manner
    • Performing process and compliance audits / assessments against procedures and international standards and requirements (internal and external)
    • Facilitating 3rd party and customer audits
    • Facilitating activities required to establish and maintain customer and supplier approvals (Audits, questionnaires, performance monitoring etc.)
  • Ensuring day to day product and process quality requirements are understood and achieved
    • Proving support to production teams to address internal and external NCR’s and to process concessions etc.
    • Ensuring inspection, test, and calibration requirements are met
    • Primary interface with customers and suppliers to ensure quality performance is monitored and issues addressed in a timely and responsive manner
  • Overseeing day to day activities of Quality Technicians and Inspectors to ensure production and quality requirements are achieved in a timely and appropriate fashion
  • Taking responsibility for collecting, analysing and improving Quality and other business KPI’s / Process Effectiveness measures where required
    • Determining, coordinating and facilitating improvement activities for product and processes in production and office environments
    • Leading and Facilitating Problem Solving and Variation Reduction teams utilising techniques such as 8D and Six Sigma
  • Developing and utilising Product / Process Quality Planning techniques i.e. APQP, PPAP, SPC, MSA etc. to proactively establish process capability and product maturity
    • Leading and Facilitating Product / Process Quality Planning Teams and participating as quality representative in NPI projects
  • Coaching, mentoring and training of others to develop Quality skills and mind-sets
    • Developing and delivering formal quality training materials
    • Providing informal and ‘on the job’ training, coaching and mentoring to Quality Technicians / Inspectors and general workforce
    • Assist with managing training systems and records
    • Ensuring approval levels / authorisation stamp controls are established and maintained
  • Engaging in cross functional improvement activities / teams and supporting deployment of additional continuous improvement techniques where appropriate, ie. Lean Manufacturing

The Candidate/Experience:-

  • HNC / HND (or equivalent) in a technical or science discipline. Formal education / training in quality related subjects preferable i.e. CQI Certificate or Diploma, 6 Sigma, Lead Auditor etc.
  • Must be able to analyse and interpret complex data
  • Effectively present information on research progress and outcomes
  • Good communication skills are essential; both verbal and written
  • Ability to develop research outcomes into manufacturing solutions.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a relevant industry
  • Experience of 3D printing technologies would be an advantage
  • Understanding of machining, fitting and general engineering essential
  • Strong ‘can do’ attitude and work ethic
  • An organised and tidy approach to work
  • Excellent at prioritising urgent tasks alongside longer projects
  • Enjoys communicating with a wide range of people and is able to present their research findings
  • Be proactive, enthusiastic and able to self-manage

Lead Inspector

The Role: This is a key role in the Quality Team, which we see growing substantially over the next 5-10 years. For this role we require an excellent communicator to develop the quality system, in process control and mentor others to give total quality approach through the day to day operations. Main duties include:-

  • Manage inspection activities, including Goods-In
    • Creating and maintaining work instructions, including product / customer specific documents
    • Assist Senior Quality Engineer with training in-process inspectors
    • Work with Production Planner / Managers to ensure there is enough capacity and lead-time for inspection
    • Team Leader responsibilities as new Inspectors join
    • Carry out internal audits, surveillance checks and re-approval of Inspectors
  • Carry out inspection
    • Review & validate in-process inspection, including some manual inspection
    • Scanning
    • FAIRs
    • Jig & Gauge creation for inspection
  • Maintain inspection facilities and equipment to a high standard, including calibration control
  • Assist Senior Quality Engineer to develop product testing capabilities
  • Keep up-to date with relevant inspection technologies and processes

The Candidate/Experience:-

  • Workshop practical process knowledge
  • Good foundation level of engineering
  • Scanner and CMM competent
  • Inspection experience
  • Root cause analysis and managing the implementation of corrective actions
  • Able to read and interpret engineering drawings
  • Strong ‘can do’ attitude and work ethic
  • An organised and tidy approach to work
  • Excellent at prioritising daily tasks
  • Enjoys communicating with a wide range of people from all levels of the organisation and is able to discuss problems and work to a resolution in a positive, constructive manner
