Guide to doing business
Sending your data for quotation
There are various ways in which you can send us your 3D CAD data for quotation; the easiest and quickest is to attach it to an email and send it to post@3trpd.co.uk. Please ensure that you include your contact details and any relevant information regarding materials, quantities, finishing, delivery requirements etc. Alternatively, you can use our secure online Request a Quote form, or upload your data to our FTP site. We will always endeavour to email you a quotation within 24 hours.
Whilst our server can easily allow up to 10MB through without any problem, it is important that your data files are compacted to allow them to be successfully e-mailed and quickly downloaded so that you can receive your quotation as quickly as possible. Therefore, files should be zipped before sending and Stlzip software is a very efficient means of doing this - a free copy can be emailed to you upon request.
Further information on can be found in Data Transfer in the Technical Data section on our website.
Do you have an account set up with 3T?
It is important to find out whether you have an account set up with us at an early stage, as this can save time further down the line when you come to place your order. For small orders you can pay using a credit card, but an account may be required for larger orders that would be in excess of a credit card limit. And once an account has been set up, we can invoice you for all future orders. See Paying for your order for further details on how to set up a new account.
Placing your order
We cannot proceed with building your parts until order cover is received. Your Purchase Order can be e-mailed to post@3trpd.co.uk or faxed to us on +44 (0)1635 569857. Please note that we have a minimum order charge of £100. However, the unit cost would be reduced by increasing the quantity of components you require - please call our Projects Team for further information.
If you hold an account with us, you will be invoiced once your parts have been dispatched. Our payment terms are 30 days.
If you do not currently hold an account with us, you have 2 options:-
Payment by credit card – we accept Visa, Mastercard, Access, Switch, Maestro and Solo; we do not accept American Express.
Simply call our Accounts Dept. or Projects Team, and they will take the details over the phone from you.
Set up a new Account – in order to set up a new account, you will need to complete a Credit Account Application form. You can also download our Terms and Conditions of Sale. Once we receive the completed form we will request a credit check, and the account should be set up within approx. 48 hours. However, we will not be able to despatch your goods until the new account has been set up.
Delivery of your order
When your order is despatched you will receive an e-mail notifying you of the shipment details. We use a Guaranteed Next Day delivery service (before 12 noon), thereby allowing us to track and trace all packages. More urgent deliveries (next day by 9am or 10.30am or same day via dedicated courier) are available, however please contact our Projects Team to discuss the arrangements, as an additional delivery charge for these services will be applied.
Returns Policy
In the unlikely event of there being a problem with your parts, you must contact us within 24 hours of receipt of your parts to highlight the problem and we will discuss appropriate remedial action to be taken. There are 2 options that we will offer in order to rectify the problem:-
We will rebuild the parts, free of charge. However, this is at our discretion and is dependent upon the problem. The original parts must be returned to us before we will commence the rebuild, to allow us to investigate the problem and ensure that the same thing does not occur again.
The parts are returned to us and our skilled modelmakers will rectify the problem using appropriate post-processing techniques.
