3T goes wax lyrical for Children in Need!

08 November 2009 ...

3T RPD Ltd based on New Greenham Park, Newbury will be hosting various fundraising activities for Children in Need this year. Culinary expertise will be demonstrated by members of the Rapid Prototyping company who will be busily baking cakes to sell to their colleagues and other residents on the business park. Staff will also hold a raffle and be given the opportunity to pay a small fee to come to work in their pyjamas!

But probably the most courageous (and slightly insane!) fundraising activity will be undertaken by two of 3T’s staff members who have bravely volunteered to have their legs waxed! Kindly being carried out by Cannons Health Club free of charge, Martyn Harris and Pete Cole-Powney will be ‘waxed and buffed’ on Friday 20th November at the club’s premises in Newbury (www.cannons.co.uk/our-clubs/newbury).

Martyn Harris says “Somehow I was persuaded to have my legs waxed for charity!!!! I understand it is a painful experience but if hundreds of women do it every week, then how painful can it really be??? I guess I will find out on the 20th!”

Any donations for sponsorships would be greatly appreciated. If you would like to sponsor Martyn or Pete, then please visit Martyn’s sponsorship page at www.justgiving.com/martyn-harris .

The annual BBC Children in Need appeal works to make a positive change to the lives of disadvantaged children and young people across the UK. In 2008 they raised a staggering £38 million, and every penny goes towards creating a society where each and every child and young person is supported to realise their potential.
