3T donates to charity for Christmas
Every Christmas 3T RPD Ltd donate the money they would have spent on Christmas cards to a national charity, with the emphasis being on contributing to a worthwhile cause with long-term aims. Instead of sending out traditional, printed cards, 3T send a Christmas greeting via e-mail to their customers, prospects and suppliers, and for every person that responds via a link to their website, £1 is donated to the nominated charity. They also do a collection throughout their staff so they donate what they would have spent on cards too.
For Christmas 2011 3T chose to support CLIC Sargent, a charity caring for children with cancer. Every day 10 families are told their child has cancer and as the UK’s leading children’s cancer charity, CLIC Sargent is the only organisation to offer them all round care and support. A total of £292 was donated to the charity after all the online registrations and collections were counted up. In previous years donations have been made to BBC Children in Need, Macmillan Cancer Support, Marie Curie Cancer Care, Save the Children, Cancer Research UK, Bullying Online, When you wish upon a Star and BLISS.
Sue Burnip, 3T’s Marketing Executive, said “Whilst a conventional Christmas card is always received with appreciation, they do end up being thrown away or, at best, recycled a week after Christmas! We toyed with the idea of buying charity cards, but really wanted to do something a bit different! The majority of our marketing communication is via e-mail and online through our website, so this is an ideal solution.”
